Education: Graduated from Santa Maria High School in 2008. Graduated from Fresno Pacific University in 2013 with a bachelor’s in communication. Is studying at Whitworth University for a master’s of business administration.

Work experience: Strategist for Health Justice and Belonging at the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. Executive assistant to the vice president of Student Life. Previously worked as president and CEO for Spokane Pride. Owner of Via Hospitality, an inclusive events and productions agency.

Political experience: Previously served as a precinct committee officer for the county Democratic party.

Family: Single.

Political donations: Reported having raised over $21,000 as of July 14, 2023, with top donors including retired software engineer and investor Ruth Lipscomb of Bellevue, former Microsoft administrator Jonathan Kauffman of Seattle, and Spokane-based Electric Photoland. Has also received donations from Lisa Brown and the Washington State Democratic Central Committee.

But Wheeler, but claims that Herevia abused his role as a mentor of a young student facing housing and financial insecurity after coming out as trans to their family, fostered an increasingly close relationship with inappropriate physical contact and told Wheeler to lie to others about their relationship.
