Weekend weather: Rain, wind, snow and some sun expected

Rain, wind and some snow is expected late this week and into the first weekend of spring.

On Thursday it will rain, the National Weather Service reports. Wind gusts could reach 25 mph and the chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter inch are possible.

There will be more rain before 8 p.m. on Thursday with strong winds continuing.

There is a chance of snow on Friday before 11 a.m. with rain after noon. Friday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 49 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

More rain and snow showers are expected before 1 a.m. on Saturday. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent with accumulation of less than one-half inch possible.

Saturday snow showers are likely before 1 p.m. followed by a chance of rain. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent with new snow accumulation of less than one-half inch possible.

Sunday there is a slight chance of snow before noon followed by snow and rain later in the afternoon. Sunday should be mostly sunny with a high near 49 degrees, the National Weather Service reports.
