Obituary: Nordness, Thomas Peter “Tommy”

Age 64

NORDNESS, Thomas Peter “Tommy” (Age 64) Of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, passed away October 3 2014 at home, a victim of Agent Orange.

He was born April 22, 1950 in Spokane, WA.

to Verda and Thomas Nordness.

He graduated from Rogers High School.

Growing up he won many awards for games played in Harmon Park.

He joined the Army and proudly served in Vietnam on a helicopter unit and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart, as well as the Vietnam service medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.

He received an honorable discharge.

Tommy was a sports fan of the Yankees and Colts.

He enjoyed playing cards, art and drawing.

He is survived by his significant other Rose (Hong) Newman, Coeur d’Alene, father Thomas (Dixie) Nordness, brother Rodney, all of Spokane and mother Verda Wolf, Minnitonka, Minnesota.

Brother Terry Lee preceded him in death.

Following cremation Tommy will receive full Military Honors at WA State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA on October 15, 2014 at 2:15 P.M.

The family suggests memorials be made to Auburn Crest Hospice at 1596 E. Seltice Way, Post Falls, Idaho, 83854.
