Education

 Janet Beary has been named Washington’s Outstanding Dietitian of the Year for 2014 by the Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Beary is an assistant clinical professor in the Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Program at Washington State University’s College of Pharmacy in Spokane and the director of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. This award is the highest honor given by the academy and recognizes leadership, ability and service.

 Molly Ayers, director of Community Engagement at Eastern Washington University, has received the Community Leader Award from the Washington Association of School Administrators and the Cheney School District. The award recognizes her work in the Eagle Volunteers Program, Feed Cheney and other course-based community service projects.

Finance

 Brian Norris has joined the Spokane office of MetLife’s Financial Planning Division. Norris has 27 years of experience in the financial services industry and is a registered representative with the National Association of Securities Dealers.

 Columbia Bank has named Windy Rudd as vice president, private banking team leader. Previously, Rudd was with US Bank for 23 years and most recently worked as the private banking relationship manager. Rudd is a board member for the local chapter of March of Dimes and serves on the committee of YWCA’s Women of Achievement.

Health care

 Lisa Paurus has been hired as an office administrator/patient liaison for the office of plastic surgeon Dr. Kai Morimoto. Paurus has several years of experience in the medical cosmetic industry.

Real estate

 Pam Reilly, Rick Pearman-Gillman and John White have joined Windermere Real Estate/Valley Inc. as brokers. Reilly was previously with Itronix, Pearman-Gillman was previously with Coldwell Banker Tomlinson South, and White was previously with Kestell Real Estate.

 The Spokane Association of Realtors has named the 2014 local award winners as follows: Marianne Bornhoft of Windermere Manito, Realtor of the Year; Glen Carey of Woodard Properties, Realtor Community Service; Tom Hormel of RE/MAX Inland Empire, Steve Flinn Realtor Achievement Award; Tony Price of First Class Septic Inc., Partner of the Year; Anthony Carollo of Stewart Title of Spokane, Affiliate of the Year; Mayor David Condon, Citizen of the Year.

Retail

 Etailz has hired Matt Schneidmiller as an accountant and Carolyn Kurth as an inventory clerk.

Sales

 Visit Spokane has hired Ashley Reese as a convention services coordinator and Jody Chambers as an executive assistant. Prior to joining Visit Spokane, Reese held sales and catering positions at The Davenport Hotel and The Glover Mansion. Chambers worked as a customer service representative at Sonderen Packaging and as a trade show and events manager at General Dynamic Itronix.
