The Christ Clinic will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate a new medical clinic Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the new clinic’s location, 2410 N. Monroe.

Scheduled to speak at the event are Bill and Bonnie Robinson, and Frank and Linda Browne, the co-chairs of the campaign to build the clinic.

Also scheduled to attend are U.S. Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R), Mayor Mary Vernor, Sen. Chris Marr and City Councilmember Steve Corker.

The Christ Clinic is currently in the West Central neighborhood and has been treating patients since 1991. Most of its patients are the uninsured and working poor.

The clinic is still accepting funds for both the clinic and the Christ Kitchen.

Bloomsday church events

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1832 W. Dean Ave., will hold a Blessing of the Shoes the night before Bloomsday Saturday at 5 p.m.

The evening also includes an Italian dinner at 6 and there will be an evening of swing dancing after dinner from 7 to 9.

There is s suggested donation of $15 for adults and $5 for children. The proceeds will benefit Anna Ogden Hall.

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 4320 S. Conklin St., will hold a Dine ‘n’ Dash Pasta Pig-Out and Worship Saturday at 6 p.m.

The spaghetti feed begins at 6 p.m. and there will be worship at 6:45.

Donations will be accepted.

Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard, will offer a carb feed Saturday at 5:30 p.m. to get runners ready for Bloomsday.

There will also be a worship service at 6:30.

For those no running the big race, there will be a worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort Wright Drive, will hold a rustic Italian dinner Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The dinner will be catered by the Barn at Trezzi Farm and will include an entree, salad, bread, dessert, coffee, tea or milk. The entree served will depend on how many tickets are sold – 200 tickets sold and the entree will be lasagna. If the church sells more than 200 tickets, then Davide Trezzi will cook spaghetti in the kitchen of the church.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 16 and younger. The proceeds will benefit the yearly church budget.

Orthodox question-and-answer session

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington, will hold a question-and- answer session Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the main hall of the church.

The session is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the Orthodox Christian faith.
