Rice among number of injured Seahawks

Associated Press

SEATTLE — Seattle Seahawks receiver Jerry Rice left Sunday’s game against Carolina after spraining his right ankle in the second quarter.

The Seahawks also lost Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson to a sprained right ankle, though he tried unsuccessfully to return early in the second half.

Coach Mike Holmgren said he’d know more about both injuries Monday.

Receiver Alex Bannister, who also made the Pro Bowl last season as a special teams player, broke his collarbone and will miss eight weeks.
