Monday, 3:30 p.m., council chambers, briefing session on Aug. 23 meeting, plus approval of routine items.

Monday, 6 p.m., council chambers, consideration of whether a water fluoridation initiative will be put before voters this fall, or at a later date. Public testimony will be limited to the council’s options for putting the initiative on the ballot or adopting it.

Spokane Valley City Council

Tuesday, 6 p.m., City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave. Study session. Topics include: 2005 budget goals, requests for budget consideration from outside agencies, alternatives to incarceration. Public comments aren’t normally taken at study sessions.

Spokane Street Community Forums

Tuesday, 6 p.m., East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone, public input being sought on 10-year street plan.

Wednesday, 6 p.m., West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt.

Thursday, 6 p.m., Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook.

Spokane City Council/Community Assembly

Wednesday, 4 p.m., council briefing center, lower level of City Hall, joint meeting between council and neighborhood representatives on the effect of budget cuts on neighborhood planning and programs.

Spokane Parking Public Development Authority

Thursday, 11 a.m., fifth-floor conference room, City Hall, possible discussion of proposed loan from city of parking meter revenue.

Spokane County Commission

Tuesday, 2 p.m. Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway, discussion of non-hearing items.
