Boy Dies From Sled-Towing Accident

From Staff And Wire Reports

A boy has died a week after the sled on which he was being towed collided with an oncoming car, the second fatal accident involving the family in less than two months.

Phillip Hill, 12, a sixth-grade student in this suburb, died Monday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle of head, lung and pelvic injuries.

The sled the boy was riding was being towed by an uncle and the boy’s father in a minivan when the accident occurred Jan. 12. Towing a sled is illegal on a public street, and King County sheriff’s detectives have not ruled out charges against the uncle and father.

The boy was a nephew of Richard W. Donley Jr., co-owner of Cave Man Kitchens restaurants in Kent and Seattle, who died Dec. 1 in a small-plane crash Dec. 1 near Kettle Falls.
