NEW FACES:

Fulcrum Environmental Consulting has added the following two people to its staff:

Larry Hagel, formerly a chemical analyst with North Creek Analytical, will handle subsurface investigations and hazardous materials audits.

Michelle Yates joined Fulcrum’s Spokane office as an environmental chemist. Her responsibilities include technical and administrative support for a variety of jobs, including environmental site assessments, compliance audits and process analyses.

Dr. E. Todd Garman has established a practice in internal medicine in the Deaconess Medical Building, 801 W. Fifth, Suite 412. Garman will focus on geriatrics, diabetes, chronic lung diseases and preventative medicine. He received his medical degree from Creighton University and completed a residency at Creighton’s St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha. Garman also has been named medical director at Alderwood Manor.

Re/Max of Spokane has hired Kirk Herring as a new construction sales specialist. Herring has been in the real estate field since 1983.

Darren Dinwoodie has joined Inland Mortgage as a loan officer specializing in residential home refinances and first-time home buyers.

Peggy Scott has joined Kinko’s Corporate as corporate account manager. Scott has more than 14 years of sales and sales management experience.

Kootenai Medical Center has added the following people to its staff:

Timothy Stokes joined the hospital’s Neurodiagnostic Services Department as an electroencephalogram technologist. Stokes previously provided EEG, evoked potential and surgical monitoring services for several Spokane hospitals through Empire Health Services.

Michael Blee joined Kootenai Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary Department as a clinical instructor. Blee, who earned a master’s degree in health care administration from St. Mary’s College, has spent the last 10 years as the director of cardiopulmonary services, cardiac catheterization laboratory and business development for Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch, Calif.

David Bergen and Mike Zoll have joined the division of student life at Gonzaga University. Bergen is the dean of student services. He received a master’s degree in education from Texas A&M University and has 17 years in the field of student personnel, most recently at Stetson University in Deland, Fla. Zoll, who was named associate dean of students, earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of La Verne. He has 10 years of experience in student affairs administration, most recently at Harvey Mudd College.

MOVING UP:

Sterling Savings Association has named Kent Schultz manager of Sterling’s Spokane Downtown Branch. Schultz, who joined Sterling in 1993, is a business banking team leader in addition to his role as branch manager. He is responsible for coordinating the business and retail banking for the downtown branch.

Jerry Lyon has been assigned to oversee the business and retail banking for Sterling Saving’s Manito, Valley and NorthTown branches. Lyons, who joined Sterling in 1996 as the Valley branch manager and business banking leader, was promoted to vice president earlier this year.

KUDOS:

John Shearer, owner, and sales associates Jeannette Karis and Mary Keys of Re/Max City Wide have been awarded the Accredited Buyer Representative designation by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors.

Debra Morse has been named Employee of the Quarter at Spokane Railway Credit Union for the second quarter of 1997. Morse has been teller supervisor at the credit union’s Lyons branch for seven years.

Ten Spokane agents have qualified as members of the 1997 Executive Council of New York Life Insurance Co.: Barry Roach, Berge Borrevik, Kelly Mellon, Colleen Stevens, Bill Benjamin, Barry Folsom, Carl Chapin, Tom Mosher, Rich Nail and Scot Pyle. Membership is based on 1996-97 sales performance.

Jared Schatz, cash management officer for Spokane, is one of 54 members of the Municipal Treasurer’s Association of the United States and Canada awarded the association’s Certified Municipal Finance Administrator credential.

Gary McLain, of Ben Bridge Jeweler, was awarded the title of registered jeweler by the American Gem Society. McLain has more than 21 years of experience in the jewelry industry.

ELECTED:

Frank Boyle, commissioner of Liberty Lake Sewer District, has been elected secretary of the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts.

Garry Montague, of Gary Montague Auctioneers in Spokane, has been elected first vice president of the Washington Auctioneers Association.

Patricia Dahmen-Ray, of Ray’s Demolition, has been installed as the corporate chartering director of Executive Women International. She will serve a one-year term.
