Don’t miss your chance at an all-expense paid trip to Italy.

Enter the Young Columbus contest, sponsored by The Spokesman-Review and Parade magazine. All you have to do is read the newspaper (past or present) and find a person who has had a positive influence on society. Clip the articles about the person, write a one-page summary of the person’s contributions and then write a fictitious letter to that person explaining how he or she inspired you to get involved in your community or gave you a greater understanding of the importance of being involved. The contest is open to students ages 12 to 18 living in The Spokesman-Review’s home delivery area. Entry forms and complete rules are available in your school office or by calling 459-5071 or (800) 338-8801, extension 5071.

Hurry, entries must be received by Dec. 15.
