Obituaries

Noel Routson Chewelah, Wash.

Vigil service for Noel M. Routson, 87, is planned for 7 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chewelah. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Spokane. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Routson, who was born in Weiser, Idaho, died Monday.

He and his wife previously lived in Alaska, and Emmett, Idaho. They moved to Chewelah one year ago.

He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Routson; two sons, Emmit Routson of Spokane and John Routson of New Orleans; three daughters, Letty Tucker of Coeur d’Alene, Maria Bowles of Valley, Wash., and Patty Faunce of Commerce, Texas; two brothers, Emmit Routson of Avenal, Calif., and Bob Routson of Weiser; one sister, Edna Robinson of Klamath Falls, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

George Hartz Coeur d’Alene

Visitation for George W. Hart, 80, will be today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery’s Riverview Section.

Mr. Hartz, who was born in Canada, died Monday.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1923 from Canada and worked as a serviceman for Cope’s Appliance for many years.

Mr. Hartz and his brother operated Week’s Air Field for several years. He was a former member of the Coeur d’Alene Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Lou; two sons, Edward Hartz of Coeur d’Alene and George “Bill’ Hartz of Ritzville, Wash.; one daughter, Barbara Mann of Clarkston, Wash; one brother, Edward Hartz of Roche Harbor, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Norma Harvey Hayden Lake, Idaho

Memorial service for Norma L. Harvey, 86, will be held Friday at the Sandpoint Christian Center at 1 p.m. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harvey, who was born in Missouri, died Tuesday.

She was raised in Spokane and later moved to Los Angeles. She moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1948.

Mrs. Harvey worked as a cook at various area restaurants, including the Hayden Lake Country Club, for many years before retiring in the early 1960s.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; one son, Vernon Harvey of Sandpoint; two brothers, Clyde and Clell Nance, both of Spokane; two sisters, Blanche Jenkinson and Helen Leinum, both of Spokane; and two grandchildren.

Randall ‘Randy’ Witt Sagle, Idaho

Service for Randall T. “Randy” Witt, 28, will be held Friday ay 1 p.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Witt, who was born in Whittier, Calif., died Sunday from injuries suffered in a boating accident.

He grew up and was educated in California, later working in electronics and landscaping and as a diesel mechanic.

He moved to Sagle in 1991 and worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction and excavating.

Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife of three years, Susan; two children, Amber and Trevor Witt, both of Sagle; two stepchildren, Tara and Nicholas Cretol, both of Sagle; his mother, Marilyn Witt of California; three brothers, Ricky, Ronald and Russell Witt, all of California; three sisters, Belinda Watkins and Sandra Johnson, both of California, and Julie Witt of New Mexico; and his grandparents, Joel Cleugh of California, Patricia Cleugh of California and Dorothy Knoles of Oklahoma.
