French Airport Strike Beginning To Ripen

Compiled From Wire Services

A two-week-old strike by cleaning staff at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport has left toilets blocked and trash strewn about two of the airport’s five terminals.

The strike by employees of COMATEC, a subcontractor of Aeroports de Paris which runs the airport, forced some Air France ticket agents to move Friday into a neighboring terminal to handle passengers.

The workers went on strike Dec. 28 to demand they keep their jobs amid a reorganization.
