What happened: Nick Wade pitched a complete game, allowing just one run and striking out four and he had two hits and a run batted in and the fourth-seeded Suns (9-11) beat the visiting eighth-seeded Blackhawks (7-11) in a District 8 3A semifinal game on Tuesday. Southridge advances to play Kennewick on Saturday and both teams will advance to state. Cheney will play University in a loser out on Saturday.

What happened: Nick Wade hit a two-run walk-off single and the Suns (11-11) edged the visiting Panthers (15-7) in a first-round game. Cole Startin had given Mead the lead in the top of the seventh with an RBI triple. Mead will face top-seeded Ridgeline in a loser-out on Tuesday.
