The Spokane River: People, Place & Revival

National Trust for Historic Preservation Field Session

Follow the early power development of the Spokane River by touring four historic facilities that helped fuel the region’s early industrial development. The story notes the loss of one of the Northwest’s most significant Native American gathering places, marks the decades of the River as an industrial corridor, showcases the historic projects that capture the architecture and engineering of that remarkable time, and highlights the communities’ efforts to recover the many lost values of this treasured waterway.
