D. C. Corbin House

1897-98: Daniel Chase Corbin, the brother of the president of the Long Island Railroad Company, planned and built the railroads that connected the rich gold mines of the Coeur d’Alenes to Spokane, thus making the city an important hub. He demanded a less ostentatious house than his son. The wrap-around porch of this Colonial Revival House provided for comfortable living in the hot summers of Spokane. This house has provided a place for art education and exhibitions for many years. Administered by the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department, it is part of Marycliffe/Cliff Park Historic district.
