Jessica Yaeger

Education: Graduated from Central Valley High School in 1998. Received a liberal arts degree in 2003 from Spokane Community College. Received a bachelor's degree in social sciences in 2012 from Washington State University. 

Political experience: Has been a Spokane County Republican Party precinct committee officer since last year. 

Work experience: Has spent much of her career in hospice. Currently works as an aging specialist for Angel Senior Care. Has previously run assisted living and memory care facilities. Former executive director of Pegasus Senior Living and Rose Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care, according to her LinkedIn, although during an interview declined to name the companies. Worked in an ophthalmology office. Has served on the Senior Action Network of Eastern Washington's board. 

Family: Husband is Scott Buettner. Has three boys. 

Fundraising: Has raised more than $23,300 as of Sept. 26. Notable donors include Spokane Valley Mayor Pam Haley, former Spokane County GOP Chairwoman Cindy Zapotocky, Spokane Valley City Councilwoman Laura Padden, state Sen. Mike Padden (R-Spokane Valley) and Gloria Higgins, wife of Spokane Valley City Councilman Rod Higgins.

Rachel Briscoe

Education: Graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, Washington, in 2002. Earned a bachelor's degree in history in 2008 from Eastern Washington University. Received a master's degree in educational psychology in 2011 from Northern Arizona University. Has a leadership certificate from Whitworth University. 

Political experience: None. 

Work experience: Co-owner of Briscoe Construction. Used to manage residence halls at Eastern Washington University, Northern Arizona University and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Co-founder of Spokane Ladies Business Community, a coaching and networking group for women who own or operate businesses. 

Family: Married to Jeff Briscoe. Has three kids. 

Fundraising:  Has raised nearly $13,500 as of Sept. 26. Notable donors include Spokane Valley City Councilman Ben Wick and Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels.
