Bogus Basin has announced that it will open for limited skiing Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the Coach, Deer Point and Showcase lifts operating, along with the Easy Rider magic carpet. A terrain park will be in place at Stewart’s Bowl, and Nordic skiing will open on portions of the upper trails including Redtail, Sapper’s, and the Nordic Highway.

It’s not the full opening yet; Bogus says it’ll open be open only weekends for now. “Additional operations will begin as snow conditions allow,” the nonprofit ski resort said today in a news release.

Bogus reported a base of 16 inches, which will mean early-season conditions; there’s no night skiing yet. “We are very excited to kick off the 2016-17 season and to begin the celebration of our 75^th anniversary year,” said General Manager Brad Wilson. “We have been watching conditions closely, and we have been preparing to make the decision to open as soon as we possibly could. The new snow over the past few days has made the difference.”

The Simplot Lodge will be open with food and beverage operations; the upper Pioneer Lodge will be available only for lockers and bathrooms.

Ticket prices will be reduced, at $39 for adults.
